Stop Overcomplicating it!
This is something we love to do, because it gives us an excuse for not reaching our goals and I can be guilty of this as much as anyone but over the years I’ve got better and having a word with myself.
If it’s complicated it’s giving us an out for why we’re not where we want to be.
The reality is, its’s the basics we’re not doing.
1) Training with consistency and intensity 2-4 times a week including some weight training and some cardio
2) Eating based on our goals hitting our macros with a balanced diet
3) Sleeping 7-9 hours a day
4) Staying hydrated
Yes the little extras can help like massage guns, creatine, saunas, supplements etc. but it’s not why you are not where you want to be.
If you have a fitness goal right now, right down where you are with these 4 things.
Any of them not where they should be? Put your focus there.
Not training enough, plan your week every Sunday. Make it non-negotiable. Whether it’s 15 minute HIIT or a 60 minute strength get it done, keep the habit.
Food not right? Use a macro calculator to gauge where you need to be, track it for a few weeks so you know exactly what to be eating then continue with what you’ve learned from tracking.
Not sleeping well? This is the unsung hero of health and fitness. Look at your sleep hygiene, make sure you have a dark room or eye mask, supportive mattress, go to bed the same time every night and get up at the same time and avoid caffeine and alcohol to improve QUALITY of sleep as well as quantity
It’s winter and we all want to reach for the hot drinks but making sure we get good water intake is super important. The best way to know, take a look at your wee colour. A slight yellowy tinge being best.
It’s not sexy, it takes time but it’s worth getting these right.
Fancy a PT session session for just £15? Every Sunday at 11am I’m offering a one off PT session for just £15 to help people who maybe cannot afford PT but feel unconfident about what to do to come and learn how to train. Get in touch today to find out more!
