Fitness Simplified with Anthony Trebble Training

Okay okay, I’m sorry, I deserted you for a bit there! But with good reason, things have been super hectic creating a festival and moving gyms! Writing does not come naturally to me so doing this with about 1% brain power left felt like a waste of everyone’s time. I want this to be something helpful in your life not just another bit of nonsense clogging up your emails. So shall we get to making you gym pro’s?

Gym hack!

We all love a hack right? Whether it’s cutting pizza with scissors rather than a knife or putting a wooden spoon on your pan to stop it boiling over when cooking pasta.

Well here wo go.. this big reveal of the ultimate gym hack..

Lifting straps.

Now not the most groundbreaking but I still see so many people not using them. There’s a few people with naturally incredible grip but the reality is most of us it will be our grip that goes first in certain exercises such as deadlifts, rows, lunges and more. So by not using them you’re likely to be missing out on reps and getting to that intensity you truly could.

The best part is they’re super cheap as well! You can get some for about £5-10.

There’s a few of options

The first two I’d say are for more traditional lifting and both have benefits. The traditional ones are easy to get out of, so if the weight does become too heavy you can let go nice and easily but can be a bit of a pain to get on. The figure 8 are the opposite, they offer incredible support and don’t slip however getting them off can be difficult especially when using dumbbells. It’s all personal preference I would say.

The Mental Hob

I learned about this last year and it has become quite key in my life in how I am channelling my energy.

Picture a traditional cooking hob with 4 hobs and a limited amount of gas. Each hob represents a different part of your life; Work, Relationships, Health, Family.

It’s impossible to burn all 4 hobs without burning out quickly so you have to pick a maximum of two to burn high and reduce the other two. Just remember to not turn them off completely.

Think about it, if you’re in a period where you’re super focused on work and you’re hanging out with friends in all your spare time going out and doing stuff there’s little time to rest or exercise or maybe make healthy meals so your health takes a downturn and you’re probably not seeing family as much in that time.

It is down to you where your focus goes but just understand that you cannot do all of these things at once. You will, like the hob, burn out quickly.

Norwich Fitness Festival

Well, following on from the above, here’s been my brightest hob right now. The Norwich Fitness Festival. Since I last done one of these so much has been announce, 31 classes, talks, workshops and a live podcast, 3 food and coffee vendors, 25 stalls, 40387593 mental breakdowns later and we nearly have the full picture of the day.

If you don’t already go follow our Instagram where you can see all the details of the day including the line ups which include two Norfolk Fitness instructors of the year, 3 bodybuilding champions, 15 gyms involved and myself and Jess (the stars of the show obvs…)

And today and tomorrow we have a sale so you can get £5 off your tickets!

Well we’ll leave it there. I am writing this from a hotel in London before tackling Hyrox tomorrow after 1 week notice, zero training and a broken toe… I make great decisions.
