Are you listening to your shitty committee?
If so, this may be what is holding you back!
I wish I came up with the phrase shitty committee but it’s something I heard in an audiobook ages ago but has always stuck with me..
Every person has a different one but they all have the same affect; holding you back.
It’s basically our fears, anxieties and irrationalities all forming a queue to tear you down.
They can be big or they can be small but added together they can be powerful.
Your shitty committee might be telling you you’re not in good enough shape to go in to the gym. It might be saying that you’re crap at your job. Or even that your partner doesn’t feel the same about you any more.
But just because they’re saying these things it does not mean it’s true.
Next time you end up in a situation with your committee I want you to do one thing for me.. tell it to fuck off.
Instead I want you to focus on the realities and facts.
People of all shapes, sizes and abilities go to the gym. If you were that crap at your job you probably wouldn’t still be in it, and if you are crap then it’s just not the career for you. Your partner wouldn’t still be with you if they didn’t feel the same and it’s just that we hold them in such high regard, and ourselves in such low regard, that we fear losing them.
Listen to the positivity party (I did make this one up) when you can. Uplift yourself, be your own biggest cheerleader, celebrate the small wins.
It doesn’t need to be fake positivity, it can look like “things aren’t great right now, but in time I know they will be”
You are fantastic. So many people will agree. So should you. Go do the thing you keep telling yourself you can’t do.
